Notices Please help us to create a better BOXING QUEENSLAND by filling out a short survey. This offer is to the Australian Boxing League; Your organization can join Boxing Queensland simply by affiliating the whole organisation. In this way all of your clubs would be eligible to box on any BQ tournament throughout Queensland and compete against any BAI club in any State. You would also be entitled to compete in the State Titles and gain selection in the State team to compete at the Australian Titles (automatic selection if you win the State Title), ultimately representing Australia at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Titles etc. Once affiliated, your boxers would become registered BQ boxers and would need AIBA blue medical books which your local sub-zone (Nth Qld) would supply and retain registration fees. IT IS UP TO YOU! ACT NOW AND GIVE YOUR BOXERS THE OPPORTUNITIES THEY DESERVE...SPEAK UP! Yours in sport Allan Nicolson Check out the Boxing Queensland Club League Table As you may already be aware, Abbreviated Therapeutic Use Exemptions (ATUEs) for beta-2 agonists have been progressively phased out during 2009. Please note that all ATUEs will expire on 31 December 2009. Any athlete with an existing ATUE will need to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) before this time. Please see attached table which outlines which body (either their International Federation or ASDMAC) athletes should be applying to for their TUEs. We are expecting that ASDMAC will be quite busy processing TUE applications in the lead up to 31 December 2009, so it is strongly recommended that athletes undertake the appropriate medical tests and apply for their TUE ASAP to allow time for the TUE to be processed. Athletes who do not have a TUE approved by 1 January 2009 will not be covered by their previous ATUE. For more information about TUE applications, please visit the ASDMAC website at www.asdmac.gov.au or call 13 000 ASADA and press ‘4’ for ‘TUEs’. The World Anti-Doping Code 2007 Prohibited List is now available on the WADA Website: The 2007 list will come into effect on January 1st 2007, until that time the 2006 Prohibited List remains effective. This web page includes the 2007 Prohibited List, 2007 Monitoring Program and a summary of major modifications. The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) encourages you to ensure you’re State Organisations, team managers, medical officials and athletes are aware of the new list, and remind athletes it is their responsibility to check the status of any medication prior to use. ASADA recommends all athletes re-check the status of their medications periodically, this can be done by calling the Anti-Doping Hotline on 1800 020 506 or referring to the medications list on the ASADA Website which provides information about Australian Pharmaceutical products and their status in sport.
